Just a short update. The doctor’s visit yesterday was a piece of cake for Mary Ann. No lab work!!! Which meant no needles, no blood taking, any of that stuff. Since she is not doing chemo anymore she doesn’t have to mess with that. That makes going to the doctor a whole lot easier. She loves Dr. Gordon and tells him so, but still wants to spend as little time as possible with him. After a brief check up and answers to a few questions it was determined we would just keep on doing what we have been doing in regards to her medications. He did add an anti-cramping pill which we trust will help when she has stomach pain.
With that behind us we are ready to take a month off and just spend time together doing stuff Mary wants to do. As soon as church is over Sunday, we are on our way. Our plans involve quite a bit of travel so pray for Mary’s stamina. We will keep our daily drives as short as they need to be. First stop is Perdido Beach, FL. Friends in our church have made their condo available to us. The pictures we have seen make us eager to get there. What a beautiful place and area. From there we return home for a couple days to rest and catch up, then the plan is to head up to the Chicago area for a visit with Mary’s mom and our friends the VanderHeidens. We will return home for the weekend of May 2nd before heading to Matt and Sarah’s in NC May 4-11th. Though Mary is not as physically strong and mentally sharp as she would like to be, we are trusting she will be able to maintain her current levels throughout these next weeks. Please pray to that end.
We had a wonderful Easter, good services on Sunday morning, lunch with family afterwards, and beautiful weather to enjoy. We are looking forward to memorable times in the days ahead. Thanks for all your love and prayers.

SO GLAD to hear of the “friendly” visit to the doctor, and the end of the chemo rounds. Your month off sounds like just what the Good Doctor ordered (especially the Florida part). We will certainly pray for strength, stamina, and travel mercies as you take to the road. God bless you both and enjoy the time together and with your cherished family. We love you.
