MONDAY

May 17, 2010

The days since my last post have gone by very, very quickly.  Sarah decided to drive up on Saturday to spend the weekend with us again.  What a delight to have her here.  She is aware that her Mom is struggling more and wants to use your love and considerable nursing skills to help me take care of her.  No complaints from me on that!  It also provided me with peace of mind as I reentered ministry on Sunday after four weeks off.  Not only did I have the joy of being in the pulpit Sunday morning, but I got to co-teach our Discovery Class for new attenders that evening.

Mary’s physical challenges have reached a point where it was wise to get a hospital bed for her.  It arrived Saturday and has been a blessing.  This gives us so many more options for her comfort.  Our friend Liz continues to amaze me as she always seems to know just what we need to do next to be sure Mary doesn’t have to deal with unnecessary pain or discomfort.  What a blessing to have her and Sarah here with us.

Sarah drove back home this morning and will be flying back on Friday.  She is determined to be here on weekends for a while.  No amount of my coaxing to take a weekend off gets through to her.  She justs wants to be here, and I certainly understand that.

Thank you for your prayers.  God is giving wisdom in helping Mary’s caregivers make good decisions.  We are so blessed.

    Dear David,
I SO wish I could be there to be with you and Mary Ann and help. I feel so distant and helpless, and I love you both so much.
Scot’s wedding is May 29th, so we are in motion for that. It will be a difficult day, but I am so very happy for Scot.

    Love to you both,
    Linda

    Hi David,
Delores and I just returned home from Florida yesterday afternoon. I had gall bladder surgery that kept me in the hospital for 8 days so we finally got to go for almost 3 weeks. I will be doing the wedding for Donna’s daughter Faren up in Mentor this coming Saturday. Just wanted you to know that Delores and I keep up with your blogs and regularly pray for you and Mary Ann. We think a lot of you two. We appreciated so much Mary Ann’s concern for Deanna. Lord Bless

    Dear Friends,

We continue to pray for Mary Ann’s healing and for God to sustain you both on the journey. We know He cares about you and loves you dearly, even when we are not understanding His ways.

Our prayer meeting group is asking each time how you are doing and wanting you to know they are praying for you.

We’re so thankful for Sarah and all her help!

    Lovingly,
    Norma and Duane
